Primary Election is Tuesday, May 5, 2026
General Election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026
On both dates, polls open at 6:00am and close at 6:00pm

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

!! RUSH COUNTY HAS BEEN DESIGNATED AS A “VOTE CENTER COUNTY” !!

BEGINNING IN 2026, REGISTERED RUSH COUNTY VOTERS CAN NOW VOTE AT ANY VOTING/POLLING LOCATION WITHIN RUSH COUNTY.

ON THE MAY 5 PRIMARY ELECTION DAY AND THE NOVEMBER 3 GENERAL ELECTION DAY, YOU WILL NO LONGER BE REQUIRED TO VOTE AT A SPECIFIC PRECINCT LOCATION. INSTEAD, YOU MAY VOTE AT ANY LOCATION LISTED BELOW FROM 6:00A.M. TO 6:00P.M. :

  • Community Building (located at the Rush County Fairgrounds), 1181 N. Sexton Street, Rushville IN
  • Ercel Beaver Community Bldg., 1 N. Main Street, Carthage IN

HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR VOTERS

Voting Absentee by Mail or Traveling Board:

If you would like to vote by mail or traveling board in the upcoming Election you must complete an application. You can complete the application by going online at www.indianavoters.com and clicking the “Vote by Mail or Traveling Board” button OR you may call the Voter Registration Office at (765) 932-2086 to have an application mailed to you.

Last day to register to vote prior to May’s Primary Election is APRIL 6, 2026. Voter registration re-opens on May 19, 2026.

 

Last day to register to vote prior to November’s General Election is OCTOBER 5, 2026. Voter registration re-opens on December 1, 2026.

The 2026 Campaign Finance Manual (to view, click here) and the 2026 Indiana Candidate Guide (to view, click here) are now available to be viewed/downloaded. Candidates will NOT receive printed versions of these publications.  Important reminder: Candidates should file their financial reports prior to deadlines indicated, otherwise the County Election Board may assess a fine of up to $50 per day for each day past the deadline.

 

IMPORTANT REMINDER: In accordance with 2025 Legislation of the HEA 1679, Section 1, an Officer Holder who receives more than $5,000 salary/pay must keep their campaign finance committee (CFA-1) open while holding office and are thereby required to file the necessary financial reports (CFA-4) by the deadlines indicated, even if the do not intend to raise or spend any money toward their campaign.
